Kids

Welcome to Adventure Island

Each week our FaithWeaver lessons encourage children to focus on the one most important thing in life: a growing relationship with Jesus. All classes study the same lesson, which encourages learners to weave faith into their everyday life through meaningful activities, great discussions, and personal challenges. However the lessons do not end on Sunday morning. It is a goal of FaithWeaver to encourage faith conversations in the family throughout the week. Here at First Alliance Church, we want to take our learners beyond head knowledge of the Bible into a heart and life-changing experience. First Alliance places an emphasis on saftey, which means that our volunteers are screened and are ready to minister to children and youth.

Birth – 36 Months

At First Alliance Church, we firmly believe that the foundations for faith are laid in the very earliest of years. Therefore, it is our priority to create a safe, loving environment for children to interact and learn the lesson of the day through exciting and age-appropriate activities while parents relax and are renewed during the Sunday School and Worship hours. Jesus said, ”Let the children come to me.”

Nursery – For the Worship hours, a secure place is provided where babies ages birth-36 months can play with other children their own ages.  Each of our caregivers attend to the children’s personal needs in a loving and caring way.

3 & 4 YEAR OLDS

Preschoolers love to explore new things!  In our preschool class, children learn Bible stories and how much Jesus loves them.  The truths of the Bible are presented through a variety of ways-creative Bible story time, singing, Theo skits, craft time, and snacks that coincide with the daily lesson.  It all takes place in a nurturing and loving environment.

Preschool Nursery – We offer a secure place where preschoolers can enjoy the theme of an underwater castle while they learn of Jesus and play with other preschoolers. The preschoolers join our Children’s Church the first part of the 10:30 a.m. hour for a Worship time in the Jungle and Ship Rooms.

K – 2nd Grade

As K-2nd graders learn how to read, a whole new world opens up to them. Children become excited to share about Jesus and their Sunday School class with other children their age. They begin to reflect on Bible stories and to relate them to others in their own words. In the K-2nd grade classroom, creative and interacting methods are used to mark the imprint of Jesus into the children’s lives. The children are challenged to put their faith into practice throughout the week.

Children’s Church – Children ages K- 5th grades meet weekly at 10:30 a.m. in the Jungle and Ship Rooms to learn about and worship Jesus through many different facets, including singing, drama, games, stories, and small and large group discussions. This high energy hour is a great way for a child’s faith to grow in Jesus.

3rd – 5th Grades

Ahoy Matey! The 3rd-5th graders embark on a spiritual journey each Sunday as they explore the Bible story and are challenged to apply it to their everyday lives. Children in this age group begin to exert their independence realizing that God made each one of them unique. As each student brings different traits to the class, they are able to work together, study together, and become more like Jesus!

Jr. High

This is as close as most of us get to a beach..weekly anyways! Join the Jr. High students as they journey with each other along a sand and water scene. First stop-practice the class memory verse, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3. This is where students begin making faith their own. There is no better place to get questions answered than Sunday morning at “the beach.”

Sr. High

The Tiki Room offers a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere for students to continue to ask questions and grow in their faith.  They are encouraged to study the FaithWeaver Bible passages and dig for the meaning themselves, laying the groundwork for a lifetime of spiritual growth. Youth of this age need to know they are not alone in their walk with Jesus, and the Tiki Room provides the opportunity for this important fellowship.
